Loop Guru and my Synapses

Music motivates. Loop Guru's "Through Cinemas" will take you away from Centerville, Utah, or Tualatin, Oregon, or Boise, Idaho, or Whitehorse, Canada. I promise. And if you're in the mood, try Gorillaz "Dare" from "demon days" - so much genius and so little time left. After all, gas is past $4 a gallon and more than 3000 US troops have died in Iraq and your tax kicker check isn't enough to cover your enormous credit card debt and tsunamis and earthquakes abound. Mere coincidence? You be the judge. And then there's that issue with your own deterioration and collapse. This is inevitable. So listen to "'95 (aka make things right)" by Lemon Jelly or "Starry Eyed Surprise" by Paul Okenfold or, yes, this sounds crazy, "Together" by William Shatner and Ben Folds. This is one elegant piece of performance art. Music enthralls. Pick up that ipod and plug in and start listening. Maybe you'll get somewhere. Maybe not. But the journey will be amazing. I remember lying between my large stereo speakers (100 watts rms) and listening to Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" - now that was mind blowing. And then comes Bill Shatner and Ben Folds with "Together." Hold onto your heart and smile. Wake up tomorrow, try a little harder, and smile.

and smile.
