Following Focus

Through a mirror, in a dark room, I watch these people discuss things in Spanish. I do not understand Spanish. But there is a translator - one voice for all who speak. Man, woman, young or old - all sound like a 40 year-old woman. She does not translate the laughter. It comes through the glass. Turn on the lights, and we back here are suddenly on display. The observers exposed for what they are: somewhat bored, somewhat listening as they multi-task - the new doodling. Of course they doodle with purpose. Lean on the table, press your face against the glass. What would appear on the other side? Would these Hispanic people scream or laugh? Now these are deep thoughts.
