From this day, and forward.

.

Your roller coaster's been climbing the hill for quite some time

hold on

the ride down

will be quite a thrill

hold on

no hands in the air this time

hang on for dear life

remember who loves you

remember who cares

then comes that crazy corner

the one that tries to throw you out

and after that

all those other ups and downs

one after another

but the big one

once over

is always behind you

glance over your shoulder

take a look at the past

it

is

gone

the BIG idea

I say, let's put sandwiches in plastic boxes, that you throw into the landfill so that there's something long-lasting and durable for all the other trash to rest upon. I say, everybody drive cars! Screw the atmosphere. I say, let's invade countries, develop miracle weapons systems, shoot for the Moon - or maybe even Mars while children suffer and die of malnutrition, poor sanitation, you name it - we got it. I say, "ad slogans solve everything.TM" I say, give everyone a video camera, have 'em all make movies of themselves, and post them to YouTube. I say, the sun is shining, I'm growing older, I'm going to go on a ride.

repent, therefore, of this badness of yours, and supplicate Jehovah that, if possible, the device of your heart may be forgiven you

i was remixed and came out better, again

lightning flashed in the western sky and the evening air was solid and sweet with summer rain - the smell of the tall grass and weeds filled the air - the months had moved along and now it was June - on the overpass, beyond the new interstate, the pavement was growing wet from a sudden shower unexpected and volatile in the moment. This was another evening in the stream of time known as you.

i was remixed and came out better

take track one and drop out the bass

then add some crystal bells and a synth loop

it is your life

just take control

and adjust the sliders

yourself

all it takes

is the effort

all it takes

is standing up to

the man

within.

.

in the silence

.

in

the silence

lies hope

in this

moment

lies your future

we

must

Loop Guru and my Synapses

Music motivates. Loop Guru's "Through Cinemas" will take you away from Centerville, Utah, or Tualatin, Oregon, or Boise, Idaho, or Whitehorse, Canada. I promise. And if you're in the mood, try Gorillaz "Dare" from "demon days" - so much genius and so little time left. After all, gas is past $4 a gallon and more than 3000 US troops have died in Iraq and your tax kicker check isn't enough to cover your enormous credit card debt and tsunamis and earthquakes abound. Mere coincidence? You be the judge. And then there's that issue with your own deterioration and collapse. This is inevitable. So listen to "'95 (aka make things right)" by Lemon Jelly or "Starry Eyed Surprise" by Paul Okenfold or, yes, this sounds crazy, "Together" by William Shatner and Ben Folds. This is one elegant piece of performance art. Music enthralls. Pick up that ipod and plug in and start listening. Maybe you'll get somewhere. Maybe not. But the journey will be amazing. I remember lying between my large stereo speakers (100 watts rms) and listening to Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" - now that was mind blowing. And then comes Bill Shatner and Ben Folds with "Together." Hold onto your heart and smile. Wake up tomorrow, try a little harder, and smile.

and smile.

Legendary Pink Dots

If you can listen to the track "Super" by the Legendary Pink Dots, I suggest you do so. It is raw, mesmerizing and borderline insanity. I can't help but be moved. Emotion in music is everything.
